Virtual Furniture Potential: Interview with furniture magazine Möbelkultur
Everyone's talking about the Metaverse, and we at Danthree Studio are really looking into the opportunities it offers for the furniture, home & living industry. We were recently interviewed by the well-known furniture magazine Möbelkultur about this topic.
Daniel Schuster, our founder, explained in an interview that the metaverse is currently still in its infancy but has the potential to develop into a significant market.

The technical possibilities have improved enormously in recent years, making it possible to create realistic three-dimensional worlds of experience. Above all, the combination of powerful computers, artificial intelligence, and virtual and augmented reality technologies (VR/AR) opens up new potential for the metaverse.

Daniel Schuster pointed out that many brands and companies are already active in the metaverse and offer digital twins of their physical products. These are sold as NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens), a digital token secured via the blockchain. The fashion industry, in particular, has already done pioneering work in this area.
Schuster also sees potential in the metaverse for the furniture, home & living sector. On the one hand, customers could interact virtually with furniture and furnishings and thus get a better feel for the products. On the other hand, digital visualizations in a virtual 3D showroom could promote the sale of physical furniture by presenting it realistically in walk-in, brand-compliant rooms.

Despite the big potential, there are still challenges, like data privacy worries and people being skeptical about the Metaverse. Still, Schuster pointed out that digital progress isn't stopping, and companies in the furniture biz should keep a close eye on what's happening.
