FAQ - Motif format & safe area check

What file types can I use?

Currently PNG and JPG/JPEG. For best results, we recommend using high-resolution, sharp source images.

How does automatic cutting work?

We analyze edges and contrasts to determine a center of interest. Based on this, a suggestion is generated for each aspect ratio, which you can fine-tune by dragging and zooming.

Can I export multiple formats at the same time?

Yes. You can export individual formats or export a batch of all selected formats, each at the correct target resolution.

Are safe-area overlays exported as well?

No. Overlays, grids, and guides are for preview purposes only. The exported file contains only the image itself, cropped correctly.

Can the safe-area values be adjusted?

The most common channels are preconfigured so that teams can get to work right away.

Will the color representation be preserved?

The export is in PNG format based on sRGB, as is standard for most browsers. For color-critical productions, we also recommend performing a final quality check on the target devices.

What is the Checker particularly well suited for?
