What inputs do I need for a reliable estimate?
Products (SKUs), variants per product, scenes/rooms, camera angles and the expected travel situation (studio, domestic, international). Optionally, you can specify the distance to the location - this refines the travel emissions.
How does the calculator calculate the savings per deliverable?
Formula: Savings per image = (Σ CO₂ photo - Σ CO₂ CGI) ÷ number of final images. Final images = products × variants × scenes × camera angle. If desired, the travel influence can be hidden in this KPI in order to see pure scaling effects.
Can I adjust emission factors such as PUE or electricity mix?
Yes, the extended assumptions (electricity mix in kg CO₂/kWh, PUE of the render farm, travel baselines) can be edited. This makes the estimate project-specific - from the local studio to the green cloud region.
Are samples & shipping taken into account?
Yes, typical sample/shipping issues are mapped as part of the baseline in photo production. CGI generally avoids these logistics.
How can I share or document results?
