What does a 3D animation studio actually do?

A 3D animation studio creates moving, digital content to bring products, processes or brands to life visually. This includes high-quality 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, rendering and post-production, including effects such as ambient occlusion (AO) for realistic contact and corner shadows, all in one creative workflow. What can I use a 3D animation for?

How much does a professional 3D animation cost?

The costs depend on the scope, e.g. length, complexity, style and feedback rounds. At Danthree Studio, simple 3D animations start at around €1,500, while complex 3D projects are calculated individually.

What is the process like when working with your 3D animation studio?

You send us initial information, sketches or mood boards. We then develop a concept, create the 3D animation and incorporate your feedback. You receive previews and we optimize the sequence until the final version is ready. For the final render, we distribute the jobs to a render farm in order to calculate frames in parallel and minimize waiting times. You can easily structure the content planning of your individual scenes and product variants in advance in the SKU 3D Content Planner.

How long does it take to produce a 3D animation?

Depending on the scope and level of detail, a project takes between 1-4 weeks. We work with clear milestones and keep you up to date with every step - from the initial idea to the final video.

Do I need to supply 3D files or can you create everything?

Both are possible. If you have CAD or 3D files, we use them. Alternatively, we can create the complete model based on photos, sketches or product dimensions - flexibly and efficiently. If required, we can also prepare models for AR in USDZ file format.

What types of 3D animations do you offer?

From technical explanatory videos to emotional product presentations and short social media clips, we cover all common 3D animation formats. Combinations with live-action film, sound or typography are also possible. We use the right render engine for the output, depending on the look, schedule and budget. For DCC workflows, we link to the official manuals - e.g. Cinema 4D - Help (Animation/Timeline) and Autodesk Maya - Help (Rigging & Animation).
