Viewrail, a US-based manufacturer of stairs and railings in Goshen near Chicago, stands for high-quality stairs and railings that blend weightlessly and naturally into their surroundings. This is made possible through individual consultation, a respectful approach to high-quality materials, high demands on their own designs, and the support of high-quality CGI images for brand communication.
In 2022, we were allowed to travel to Goshen Chicago for the first time. Viewrail doesn't sell stairs and railings, Viewrail sells dreams come true. But how exactly do you show that to customers? In close cooperation with Viewrail, we developed visualizations for their Floating Stairs - modern, self-supporting stair solutions - as well as for the Glass Railing Systems, which emphasize the open loft style.

This is where we at Danthree Studio come in. We were commissioned to design product images of staircases and railing systems for the various presentations showcasing the capabilities of Viewrail 3D, images that convey both the brand and the unique requirements of each individual project.
Our CGI artists did exactly what Viewrail does for its own clients: we spent a long time immersing ourselves in Viewrail’s products, working methods, and vision. The brand spaces we created for the 3D visualizations of stairs and railings embody Viewrail’s identity. As Dwell reports, cantilevered stair systems are increasingly shaping modern residential architecture—a trend we were able to bring to life visually for Viewrail.

Indoor, outdoor - and it's always about stairs and railing systems. As a stair manufacturer, Viewrail is known for iconic staircases that float weightlessly in the room. No matter what materials are used, the steps radiate a natural lightness and have none of the massive weight that you would associate with staircases in indoor and outdoor areas.
The reason for this lies in the handling of statics and the handling of the railing. Viewrail from Goshen near Chicago (USA) is also a railing manufacturer and has specialized in the materials glass and cable here. This was a particular challenge for our CGI artists.
Textures for stairs and railings in photorealistic 3D renderings
Although glass allows a view of what lies behind it, it refracts the light. The view is not clear and unchanged, and of course, light reflections and diffuse shadows create additional excitement.
Designing these textures in the 3D visualizations of stairs and railings and creating photorealistic showrooms was a real challenge.
This also applies to outdoor areas: as an agency for CGI product visuals, we know how important the details are. Renderings of stairs and railing systems are only credible if everything is right, from the incidence of light and the 3D surface structure to the small subtleties of reflections. Optics and tangible haptics - that's what counts. For particularly complex or high-resolution projects, a render farm can significantly speed up the rendering process and increase efficiency.
