We attach great importance to climate protection and carbon offsetting in our 3D / CGI studio. That's why our services and all our CGI work will be climate-neutral for our customers in 2022.
In practical terms, this means climate-neutral visual marketing for our clients. As one of the first CGI agencies, we place a high priority on climate protection and aim to be a pioneer in this area as well, encouraging others to follow suit.

3D visualizations and CGI are performance-intensive and require powerful hardware and software from the digitization of materials / surfaces, 3D modeling to the finished 3D visualization or on-site meetings with our customers. This goes hand in hand with a high use of resources, from the production of the hardware to the creation of the finished 3D visualizations or 3D animations. Why Climate Protection Is Important to Us at Danthree Studio
The far-too-high levels of CO₂ emissions over the past few decades are contributing to the Earth's continued warming.
To put it very simply: CO₂ is released during electricity generation, the incineration of waste, heating with fossil fuels, and the transport of goods around the world. CO₂ accumulates in the atmosphere. Although the sun’s rays can pass through this CO₂-rich atmosphere, they ensure that temperatures here on Earth remain within a range that supports life.
But actually, some of the radiation should be reflected and radiated back into space. The radiation is reflected at the Earth’s surface, but the mixture of gases in the atmosphere does not allow the rays to escape back into space; instead, it reflects them back toward Earth. As a result, it’s getting warmer and warmer here—that’s climate change.
The solution: There isn’t one. We can slow down climate change—and perhaps even halt it—by producing less CO₂. That’s why our 3D visualizations and CGI projects are created in a climate-neutral manner. In our case, however, “climate-neutral” does not mean that no CO₂ is released into the atmosphere when we provide our services. We can’t achieve that. But we do offset our CO₂ emissions.
Our CO₂ Offset for a Sustainable Tomorrow
Carbon offsetting is a way to prevent CO₂ emissions at the source. We cannot prevent CO₂ from being emitted during the production of the hardware we use, because it is manufactured in countries where we have only an extremely limited influence on production conditions.
However, we can help make electricity production in these countries (and in other, less developed countries) a bit more climate-friendly. We fund the construction of power plants that operate in a climate-neutral manner and generate energy from renewable sources. And we provide financial support for reforestation projects.
Reforestation is so important because healthy forests permanently sequester CO₂. Plants take carbon dioxide from the air; they need it for their metabolism. Oxygen is produced as a "byproduct," which helps keep the atmosphere clean.

Which project we invest our CO₂ offsets in
In the heart of South Africa, we have found a project that is close to our hearts. The goal of this project in South Africa (Longyuan Mulilo De Aar Maanhaarberg Wind Energy Facility) is to feed electricity generated by wind power into the Republic of South Africa’s (RSA) power grid.
The project involves the construction of a new, grid-connected wind farm at a site where no wind farm was operated prior to the implementation of the measure. The wind farm consists of 67 wind turbines and associated infrastructure and is located on the Swartkoppies and Maanhaarbergen southwest of the town of De Aar in the Northern Cape Province of the RSA. Longyuan Mulilo De Aar Wind Power (RF) (Pty) Ltd is the developer of the wind farm.
A 30-day public comment period on this project took place from September 25 to October 25. No comments were received during this period. The total reduction in GHG emissions at the end of the crediting period is projected to be 4,339,290 metric tons of CO2e.
